The internet is a never-ending source of information and you can find books, blogs and courses on any topic you could ask for.
Consuming that information and turning it into knowledge is a good thing, but can sometimes leave you feeling like there’s something missing. That’s why I love learning about and from people. And I don’t mean just reading the content they share but trying to get a deeper understanding of who they are and what I can learn from them as human beings.
This week I want to share some of my favourite people on the internet and how they have helped me form new ideas, broaden my horizon, move outside my comfort zone, and grow as a person.
I hope you’ll enjoy what they share and would love to hear your recommendations for who you follow and why you like what they stand for.
-

-
Dina Reit : I’ve learned a lot about succession in small to medium businesses through Dina’s presence on LinkedIn. She shares her journey to taking over the family business in her 20s and is a recognised leader in the German ‘Mittelstand’.
-
Steven Bartlett : Steven has a hugely popular podcast “Diary of a CEO” and makes you think and rethink the stuff you’ve always believed to be true about work, careers and beyond.
-
Samantha Unrau : Samantha is a consistent voice in support of mothers, parents, and marginalised groups in the workplace. She shows vulnerability and strength, used her influence for good and helps people connect.
-
Katy McFee : A straight talking professional, Katy shares many lessons she learned the hard way, so the rest of us don’t have to repeat those mistakes.
Who would you add to this list?
And as you read through, did you think “oh that doesn’t apply to me, I’ll skip that one”? You are totally entitled to do that, of course, but I want to challenge you for a moment: why not follow people you normally wouldn’t – just for the next couple of weeks – and see whether what they share could surprise you in a positive way?
That’s how it was for me with some of the people on this list and it’s a great way to invite new perspectives into your life :-).
Have a great week!
